Quality Engineered Homes is hiring a Junior Technical Drafter (in-office). You’ll help prepare residential production drawings in SoftPlan and support coordination of MiTek truss information and basic mechanical layout details. Ontario Building Code (OBC) knowledge is required.
Responsibilities
· Prepare and revise residential production drawings using SoftPlan.
· Apply company standards and assist with drawing checks/revisions.
· Coordinate MiTek truss/shop drawing information with plans.
· Support basic HVAC/mechanical/plumbing layout coordination.
· Work with the team to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
· Architectural/Construction Technology or Drafting diploma (or equivalent experience).
· 0–2 years drafting experience.
· SoftPlan skills (or ability to learn quickly).
· Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) for residential.
· MiTek exposure and/or truss experience preferred.
· Basic HVAC/mechanical or plumbing understanding is an asset.
· Strong attention to detail and communication.
Experience in the preparation of residential construction blueprints using SOFTPLAN or equivalent, is preferred.
The candidate must be familiar with all aspects of the residential building code and have formal training in home design and drafting.
