Harbinger Network is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Millwright / Mechanic to join our client (on a straight day shift!), who is an industry leader. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair, restoration, assembly, and maintenance of industrial pumps, centrifuges, gear boxes and related equipment using engineering drawings and specifications.
This position is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in precision workmanship, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality results. The work is highly customized, offering variety and opportunities to apply advanced mechanical skills every day.
What will you be doing?
- Repair, rebuild, assemble, and disassemble industrial centrifuges, pumps, gear boxes and other mechanical equipment.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery, conveyor systems, gearboxes, mechanical clutches, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, layout plans, and technical specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and gauges to ensure proper tolerances and component fit.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, winches, and other material-handling equipment to move machinery and components safely.
- Perform welding and fabrication work as required.
- Clean, lubricate, adjust, and maintain mechanical equipment and components.
- Follow Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and company safety standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Millwright or a minimum of four (4) years of documented experience as an Industrial Millwright or Industrial Mechanic.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Experience with machine assembly and disassembly.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, seals, and rotating equipment.
- Welding experience, including arc and oxy-fuel welding methods.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop equipment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
- Must provide own tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyperson Millwright 433A certification is desired, along with a strong desire to work when you are at work.
- If you do not have a Millwright license, but have experience building machines or as a maintenance mechanic, we encourage you to apply
- Experience repairing and rebuilding industrial centrifuges, pumps, gear boxes, etc.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems.
- Experience supporting work traditionally performed by related mechanical trades, such as machine repair or pipefitting.
- Previous machine shop experience is ideal, as is the ability to reverse engineer parts
- Willing to work overtime is desirable
- Frequent use of hands for handling tools, equipment, and components.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery and industrial equipment.
- Visual acuity sufficient for precision measurement, inspection, and blueprint interpretation.
Work Environment
This position is based in an industrial shop environment. Employees may be exposed to machine noise, welding fumes, varying temperatures, and other manufacturing conditions. Appropriate safety equipment and training will be provided, and all employees are expected to follow established safety procedures.
