Summary
We are seeking for an experienced Heavy Duty Tractor Trailer Certified Technician to join our team at New Way Trucking Ltd Winnipeg terminal. This role is crucial for ensuring well maintained equipment following maintenance policies and regulations for safe delivery of goods, contributing to our reputation for reliability and excellence in service. The ideal candidate will be working out of Winnipeg MB and will play a key role in our company for supporting logistics operations.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities-:
- Diagnosis and Inspection:Identify and diagnose faults or malfunctions in various truck and trailer systems.
- Repair and Maintenance:Perform repairs, adjustments, and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and other components.
- Component Replacement:Replace worn-out or damaged parts and components using hand and power tools.
- Testing and Adjustments:Test repaired vehicles to ensure proper performance and meet manufacturer specifications.
- Documentation:Record problems and work performed in reports.
- Compliance:Ensure that repairs and maintenance comply with regulations and safety standards.
- Working with Others:Collaborate with supervisors, other mechanics, and dispatchers to ensure efficient operations.
- Preventive Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotations.
- Continuous Learning:Stay updated on the latest technologies, tools, and practices in the industry.
Requirements-:
- Journeyman Certificate as Tractor Trailer Mechanic Required
- Class 5 License with Air Brake Endorsement Required
- Class 1 License and/or Air Brake Endorsement Preferred
- Proven experience as heavy Duty mechanic required
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with other departments
- Ability to work with team members and manage time effectively
- Familiarity with maintenance regulations and compliance standards in the trucking shop industry.
