Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator/Skilled Labourer/Compact Equipment Operator to join our construction team. This role involves operating a variety of heavy equipment, including skid steers, compact excavators, and loaders to support diverse construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in heavy equipment operation, contributing to efficient project completion while maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities
- Operate skid steers, excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, and other compact equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, paving, and excavation tasks as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Support construction activities by handling materials and performing skilled labor tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing basic repairs when necessary.
- Support horizontal drilling operations and other specialized construction tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as skid steers, excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and backhoes.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred or required based on project needs.
- Knowledge of construction processes including paving, grading, and horizontal drilling is advantageous.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced construction environment while adhering to safety standards.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor tasks including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
