About the Role
As a City Driver, you'll play an important role in supporting the daily success of our operations. This position combines local driving, yard operations, equipment operation, and driver support to help ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
You'll be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and productive yard environment, completing local transportation requirements, and supporting training and operational initiatives. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and takes pride in doing things the right way.
What You'll Do
- Complete local pickups and transportation requirements safely and efficiently.
- Support daily yard operations, including loading, unloading, equipment movement, and yard transfers.
- Operate a variety of equipment including loaders, tractors, skid steers, excavators, and snow removal equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard environment that supports efficient operations.
- Identify and address safety concerns, equipment issues, and operational inefficiencies.
- Support drivers and operations staff to ensure smooth day-to-day execution.
- Assist with driver training initiatives, orientations, and road testing as required.
- Help maintain high standards for equipment care, load securement, and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class 1 driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the open deck transportation industry.
- Experience hauling oversized and overweight loads.
- Experience in city and regional driving and yard operations.
- Experience operating yard equipment such as loaders, skid steers, excavators, and similar equipment.
- Strong understanding of load securement practices and equipment care.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and professional execution.
- Highly organized and capable of working independently.
- Resourceful problem-solver who takes initiative and ownership.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
