This is a casual, on-call position, hours typically fall 8:00am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday, with the occasional Fridays. Holidays align with school holidays.
Job Requirements & skills:
Experience working with elementary school aged students.
Ability to work effectively with co-workers, students and society members with diplomacy and professionalism.
Knowledge of current child development theories and understanding of the theories behind various learning styles.
Ability to support and respond to different learning styles. Specialized training is an asset.
Time management skills with ability to be flexible and multitask.
Ability to develop and implement a program plan that meets the objectives and learning outcomes of the BC curriculum and upholds the philosophy of the school.
Ability to assess students progress and provide written reports.
Ability to manage a group of elementary-aged students.
Specialized Knowledge/Education:
Teaching certificate valid in British Columbia (for TOC), experience and/or EA certificate prefered for EA on Call.
Current first aid certificate.
Current criminal record check or willing to complete one.
Compensation: $43.08/hr for TOC and $22.68/hr for EA on Call
We send requests at 7am, or the evening before.
