The Insurance and Marketing Lead is responsible for the development, execution, and continuous improvement of underwriting and risk management services for the Company while also supporting targeted marketing and communications initiative that enhance client engagement and drive growth.
The Insurance and Marketing Lead plays a critical role in delivering high-quality insurance and risk advisory services, identifying emerging risks, and supporting product development, while contributing to marketing, branding, and communication efforts that strengthen the Company’s value proposition and market presence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute underwriting activities including renewals, policy issuance, endorsements, certificates, and new business quotations
- Provide technical expertise across various insurance offerings (e.g., Property, CGL, D&O, Fleet, Cyber, Crime, Excess)
- Develop and enhance underwriting tools and program structures and deliver underwriting counsel and recommendations to clients
- Deliver risk management services including: risk assessments and analytics, trend analysis (frequency/severity) and loss prevention strategies, identify and research emerging risks impacting clients
- Support product development and coverage enhancements aligned with emerging risks
- Develop and deliver occasional risk management education sessions and seminars to support risk mitigation
- Support development of risk-based insurance solutions and coverage strategies
- Contribute to short- and long-term strategic planning for insurance and risk management services as well as insights to support program performance and coverage decisions
- Support execution of targeted marketing and communications initiatives aligned with business goals by contributing technical expertise to marketing materials (e.g., product summaries, coverage explanations, presentations)
- Assist in development of member communications (newsletters, bulletins, presentations) and educational content and thought leadership
- Participate in client-facing events, conferences, and member engagement activities
- Support retention and growth strategies by strengthening client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services and deepen client engagement
- Contributing to proposal materials and presentations
Qualifications
- 8+ years of commercial insurance experience, with a strong emphasis on underwriting and risk management
- Deep knowledge of commercial property & casualty insurance products
- Post-secondary education in Business or related discipline
- CIP and/or CRM designation preferred
- Exposure to marketing and communications
- Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
- Advanced consultative and relationship management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to translate technical concepts for varied audiences
- Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to balance technical insurance priorities with broader organizational objectives
- Collaborative, adaptable, and client-focused mindset
