We are currently recruiting Zoom Boom Operators to assist with fast-paced, challenging concrete high-rise projects !
Main Functions:
To work in a team environment under the direction and guidance of the Foreman or Superintendent. Operate a Zoomboom in accordance with OH & S legislation and company policies, while ensuring work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.
Duties:
- Operate a Zoomboom
- Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans, specifications and directions provided.
- Provide assistance to craft workers such as carpenters, concrete finishers.
- Participating in daily tool-box talks.
- Reviewing and preparing daily Field Level Hazard Assessments.
- Participating in weekly safety meetings.
- Ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment is used for all tasks.
- Advising supervision of unsafe conditions or acts that may be a hazard or danger to self and other workers.
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
- Ensuring tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.
- Reporting all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damage/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.
- Reviewing and participating in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.
- Other tasks and duties as required on the jobsite.
Working Conditions:
- Work weeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, 9 hours per day 44 hours per week regular plus overtime as required, including work on Saturdays as required by sites.
- Work day starts at 07:00am
- Two paid 15 minutes breaks and one ½ hour unpaid lunch break per day.
- Exposure to cold/hot weather. Appropriate dress required for weather conditions.
- Exposure to noise, dust, pollution.
- Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, sharp hand tools.
- Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift between 11 and 25 kg.
