About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Net Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and assisting in the manufacturing of fishing and aquaculture nets while maintaining quality standards and a safe, clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect nets to determine repair requirements and ensure completed work meets quality standards.
- Repair holes in netting and replace defective or worn components using patches and other repair methods.
- Assist with the manufacturing and assembly of new nets as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify the supervisor when supplies are running low.
- Accurately record all materials and work completed on each net.
- Complete and submit timesheets and other required documentation in a timely manner.
- Follow all company health, safety, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to perform manual labor and work with hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Willingness to learn through on-the-job training.
Assets
- Experience in net repair, aquaculture, fisheries, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Completion of a Salmonid Technician Program or similar training program.
