About the Role
Paloma Pressure Control Canada Ltd is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Shop Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing equipment for field use, assembling and repairing mechanical components, and maintaining a safe and organized shop environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting, and working with tools and machinery in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, repair, and maintain mechanical components and equipment
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on tools and machinery
- Prepare equipment for field work, service calls, and customer pickup
- Follow work orders, repair procedures, and quality control standards
- Assist with fabrication, machining, and welding tasks as required
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, completed work, and parts used
- Operate forklifts or material-handling equipment if certified
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and work orders
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, or mechanical systems is considered an asset
- Understanding of PPE requirements and shop safety procedures
- Ability to safely lift and handle moderate to heavy equipment
Compensation
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Day shift
- Occasional overtime as operationally required
