Overview
We are seeking a creative, research-driven AI Showrunner / Research Script Writer to help develop a YouTube video series focused on the AI space.
This role is for someone with proven YouTube experience who understands how to turn complex topics into engaging, high-retention video content. The ideal candidate is a strong researcher, writer, storyteller, and editorial thinker who can follow what is happening in AI, identify strong angles, and shape those ideas into compelling YouTube episodes.
The content will focus on:
- AI tools
- AI companies
- Creators and creator workflows
- AI trends and cultural moments
- The future of media, technology, and creativity
- Internet culture and the creator economy
This does not mean simply using AI tools. The role requires researching AI as a niche subject and turning that research into clear, entertaining, and well-structured YouTube content.
Responsibilities
- Research AI tools, companies, creators, trends, workflows, and cultural moments
- Develop compelling YouTube episode ideas based on research, trends, and audience interest
- Find strong story angles from complex or niche AI topics
- Write hooks, episode outlines, scripts, story beats, and narrative structures
- Create scripts with strong pacing, clarity, retention, and a clear beginning, middle, and end
- Suggest visual direction, scene ideas, references, title angles, and thumbnail concepts
- Help shape the format, voice, and storytelling style of the video series
- Translate technical or niche AI topics into content that feels accessible, entertaining, and relevant
- Collaborate with the team to refine scripts and improve story structure
- Ensure scripts align with the brand voice, audience, and content goals
- Stay up to date with AI news, creator trends, YouTube formats, and conversations in the technology space
Qualifications
- Proven experience writing, producing, or developing content for YouTube is required
- Strong experience in YouTube scriptwriting, research-based writing, documentary-style content, editorial video, or digital storytelling
- Strong understanding of YouTube storytelling, including hooks, pacing, retention, structure, titles, thumbnails, and audience psychology
- Demonstrated ability to research complex topics and turn them into clear, compelling video concepts
- Genuine interest in AI, technology, startups, creators, internet culture, and the future of media
- Ability to think both editorially and visually when developing video concepts
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt tone, structure, and style based on the audience and platform
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize research, sources, outlines, and script versions
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take feedback well
Experience Needed
Required:
- YouTube scriptwriting, YouTube production, or YouTube content development experience
- Experience creating research-driven video content
- Experience writing scripts, outlines, hooks, or episode concepts
- Strong understanding of pacing, retention, and online video structure
Strongly Preferred:
- Experience writing about AI, technology, startups, creator economy, or internet culture
- Experience with documentary-style YouTube videos, educational content, explainer videos, or creator-led shows
- Experience suggesting titles, thumbnail angles, visual direction, or content packaging
- Experience working on short-form and long-form video formats
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with AI tools and AI video workflows
- Experience with creator-led media brands
- Experience creating viral or high-retention content
- Background in journalism, documentary production, podcast production, or digital media
What We Are Not Looking For
- Someone who only prompts AI images or generates AI clips
- A basic video editor
- Someone who only writes generic AI-generated scripts
- Someone with no YouTube experience
- Someone who cannot research niche topics deeply
The main skills we care about are YouTube storytelling, research, editorial thinking, and the ability to shape an actual show.

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
