Optometric Assistant
Eyes on Locke is looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our close-knit team. We've had the same dedicated team since opening our clinic, and we're now looking for someone to fill a long-term opportunity!

What You'll Do
As an Optometric Assistant, you'll play an important role in creating an exceptional patient experience by:
- Welcoming patients and providing outstanding customer service
- Scheduling appointments and managing the front desk
- Updating patient records and processing OHIP and insurance information
- Assisting with pre-testing and other diagnostic procedures
- Teaching patients how to insert and care for contact lenses
- Helping patients select eyewear and lenses that meet their needs
- Managing frame and contact lens inventory
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment
- Supporting social media and other administrative tasks as needed
- Working collaboratively with the team to ensure the clinic runs smoothly

Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an optometry or optical clinic is an asset but we are willing to train the right candidate!
- Experience with contact lenses, pre-testing, or optical dispensing is considered an asset.
- Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant (CCOA) designation is an asset but not required. We are happy to support the successful candidate in obtaining this certification.
- Candidates with a willingness to learn and grow within the practice are encouraged to apply.
Schedule
This is a full-time position (approximately 38 hours per week).
Clinic Hours:
- Tuesday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (every Saturday except long weekends)

Compensation & Benefits
- $20.00-$24.00 per hour, based on experience
