Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Medical Office Billing Assistant to join our healthcare practice. This role involves managing financial records, processing billing, and ensuring accurate accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have experience with various accounting software and possess strong attention to detail to support smooth financial operations within the medical office setting. Duties
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
- Reconcile bank statements and perform account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records
- Maintain a full cycle bookkeeping. Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks to record transactions and generate reports
- Process bi-weekly payroll for physicians and administrative staff.
- Generate monthly financial reports and prepare files for the clinic’s CPA.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
- Assist in preparing budgets and monitor financial performance against established targets
- Support medical billing processes, including insurance claims submission and follow-up
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation and SOP
- Collaborate with office staff to ensure accurate data entry and recordkeeping for patient billing and payments
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation
- Experience with payroll processing and related accounting tasks
- Ability to perform bank reconciliation and account analysis accurately
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Familiarity with medical billing procedures is a plus but not required
- Strong analytical skills for budgeting and financial review
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and handling billing inquiries
