Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and attention to detail, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards
- Handle food ingredients safely, adhering to all food handling and safety regulations
- Assist in meal preparation, including cutting, rolling, and packaging sushi items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and storage areas
- Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency in quality
- Serve customers directly or assist with sushi orders as needed
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate supply needs to management
- Ensure all food served is fresh, safe, and of high quality
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, especially in sushi or Japanese cuisine, is beneficial
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation
- Focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience within the food industry is advantageous
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and food industry standards is desirable
- Passion for culinary arts and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
