Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe movement, storage, staging, and organization of raw materials, fabricated components, piping, pressure vessels, and finished boiler assemblies throughout the manufacturing facility. The role supports production by ensuring materials are available when required while maintaining inventory locations using the company's Kanban system.
Key Responsibilities
· Receive, inspect, unload, and store incoming materials and fabricated components.
· Supply welders, pipe fitters, machinists, painters, and assemblers with required materials.
· Stage production material for scheduled work orders.
· Transport components safely between fabrication, machining, welding, paint, hydro test, assembly, and shipping.
· Operate propane-powered forklifts and approved material handling equipment safely.
· Maintain inventory in multiple buildings.
· Label and identify all materials using the company Kanban system.
· Perform cycle counts and report shortages or discrepancies.
· Complete daily equipment inspections and report deficiencies.
· Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with PPE and safety procedures.
· Ensure general shop cleanliness at all times as well as maintain shop tidiness by organizing equipment and materials
· Other duties as required
Required Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing or material handling environment.
· Valid Propane Forklift Certification.
· Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and handle heavy industrial materials.
· Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
· Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.

· Fully participate in all provided or required training sessions related to your position
· Support and train new or less experienced colleagues on various processes as required
· Ensure compliance with all safety training, policies, practices and procedures and consistently apply on the job to create a safe work environment
· Monitor work environment for hazards and maintain healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation
· Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and the maintenance of engineered controls (e.g. guards)
· Report any potential hazards (e.g. faulty equipment) or potentially hazardous conditions to management immediately
· Ensure good housekeeping in all workspaces
Preferred Qualifications
· Reach Truck License.
· Scissor Lift Certification.
· Experience in boiler manufacturing, heavy fabrication, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
· Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing and Kanban environment.
Physical Requirements
Activity= Frequency: Requirement
- Standing/Walking= Constant: Up to 10-hour shift

Work Environment
This position works in a heavy industrial boiler manufacturing environment with exposure to welding, machining, forklifts, overhead cranes, paint operations, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Required PPE includes safety footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and any task-specific protective equipment.
