The roofer constructs and maintains roofs using hand tools and other equipment. They ensure roofs are stable and waterproof. They also install insulation systems and vapor barriers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Install or replace a variety of commercial roofing systems including SBS, BUR and TPO.
· Install, repair, or replace single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions.
· Install, repair, or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.
· Follow safety protocols.
Qualifications:
· Commercial roofing experience considered an asset
· Ability to learn and follow safety policy
· Ability to work in all weather conditions
· Ability to life heavy materials and tools
· Ability to use powered hand tools
· Ability to work at heights
· Willingness to work out of town
· An apprenticeship or journeyman ticket in roofing is a plus
· Fall Arrest, Torch Safety, Fire Extinguisher, Standard First Aid or/and telehandler training/certification considered an asset.
