Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Postpartum Support

At Vivara, we believe mothers deserve exceptional support during the fourth trimester. We provide RN-led, in-home postpartum care that helps families rest, recover, and thrive during the early weeks with a new baby.
We are seeking compassionate, experienced Registered Nurses to provide overnight support to postpartum families in their homes.
About the Role
As a Vivara Night RN, you will support mothers, newborns, and families during overnight shifts, allowing parents to rest while ensuring both mother and baby receive safe, evidence-based nursing care.
This role is ideal for nurses who love postpartum care, newborns, family-centered practice, and building meaningful relationships with clients.
Responsibilities
- Complete maternal and newborn nursing assessments as required
- Monitor maternal recovery, including pain, bleeding, incision healing, and overall wellbeing
- Support infant feeding, including breastfeeding and bottle feeding
- Assist with newborn care including diapering, soothing, swaddling, and settling
- Provide education and reassurance to families
- Identify concerns requiring referral or escalation
- Document assessments and interventions in JaneApp
- Maintain clear communication with the Vivara care team
- Support a calm, nurturing environment overnight
QualificationsRequired
- Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Professional liability insurance
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Ability to work independently in clients' homes
Preferred
- Postpartum, labour and delivery, NICU, pediatric, public health, or maternal-child experience
- Lactation knowledge
- Passion for supporting new mothers and families
- Experience providing client-centered care in community settings

Compensation
