Overview
We are seeking a dedicated overnight Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Hood Cleaner to join our team at SKY Facility Services. This role is essential in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and compliance of commercial kitchen ventilation systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in custodial work or facilities maintenance, possess strong attention to detail, and be committed to delivering excellent service to our clients. This position involves working with various cleaning tools and equipment to ensure exhaust hoods and related components are thoroughly cleaned and maintained according to industry standards.
A company vehicle is provided for travel between job sites — a valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
Responsibilities
- Clean and degrease commercial kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, filters, and related components using appropriate cleaning methods and tools
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to disassemble and reassemble parts of the ventilation system as needed
- Perform routine inspections of exhaust systems to identify potential issues or safety hazards
- Utilize custodial and commercial cleaning techniques to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards
- Manage time effectively to complete scheduled cleaning tasks within designated timeframes
- Heavy lifting of equipment or parts up to specified weight limits during cleaning procedures
- Drive a company vehicle safely between job sites across the service area
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding work progress and any safety concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required to operate company vehicle)
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and other cleaning equipment
- Experience in facilities maintenance or custodial services preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and safety procedures
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
