Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to deliver goods and materials to various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and efficient delivery, contributing to the smooth operation of our logistics process. Candidates must be comfortable with heavy lifting and driving over long distances, ensuring timely and secure transportation of cargo.
Duties
- Operate heavy trucks to transport goods across designated routes while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Load and unload cargo, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues during transit
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, security, and vehicle maintenance
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and general upkeep of the truck to ensure optimal operation
Experience
- Proven experience operating large commercial trucks or similar heavy vehicles
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not always required depending on the role
- Experience with long-distance driving and navigating various routes is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for commercial driving
