Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in our busy restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient restaurant operations to provide a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
- Manage food handling procedures in compliance with safety regulations and food safety standards
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain adequate stock of supplies and ingredients
- Ensure adherence to restaurant policies, health codes, and sanitation standards
- Lead team management efforts including scheduling, interviewing potential employees, and resolving staff issues
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Implement best practices in hospitality, customer service, and food service operations
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment conducive to efficient workflow
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within the food service or restaurant management industry
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety protocols
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and cash handling procedures
- Prior experience in restaurant or hospitality management roles needed
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Experience with interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Knowledge of the food industry trends, restaurant operations, and customer service excellence
