This opportunity will help you strengthen core machining skills, build confidence in a production setting, and develop habits that support long-term success in manufacturing.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Select tools, machines, and materials by following drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions so jobs are set up correctly and efficiently.
- Machine parts using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other shop equipment to produce components that meet specifications and tolerances.
- Measure, inspect, and test completed work with micrometers, verniers, and other precision instruments to confirm quality and identify defects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering information to understand machining methods, fabrication steps, and sequence of work.
- Support welding and fabrication work by following drawings, bills of materials, and specifications with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area by using required safety equipment, following procedures, and supporting efficient shop operations.
- Assist with training and general shop tasks when needed so the team can meet production, quality, and safety expectations.
TEAM:
- You’ll work alongside machinists, fabricators, and other manufacturing team members who will support your learning through hands-on experience and day-to-day collaboration. You’ll contribute to a respectful, team-based environment where different perspectives are valued, and your work will help support consistent results across Unifiller and Hillenbrand.
