Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a busy medical or dental office, ensuring smooth daily operations. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and supporting clinical staff with various administrative tasks. The MOA plays a vital role in delivering quality patient care through efficient front desk management and effective communication.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing excellent customer service
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow using electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Verify patient insurance information and process billing or payments accordingly
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly, directing calls and taking messages as needed
- Prepare and update patient charts, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical and dental records
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting necessary documentation
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks related to patient care coordination
- Maintain a clean and organized front office environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
- Handle correspondence, emails, and other communication efficiently to ensure smooth office operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix is essential
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards
- Experience as a Dental Receptionist or in office administration is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing schedules and records
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on compassionate patient interaction
- Office experience including front desk duties, administrative support, or related roles is desirable
