On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Data Engineer - Azure Databricks for a 3 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) Data Engineer - Azure Databricks - Job Description:
The project involves migrating and transforming data to the cloud, focusing on moving workloads from Google Cloud to Databricks. The Senior Data Engineer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data products and pipelines, ensuring data flows correctly from source to destination.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) Data Engineer - Azure Databricks - Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and architectures on GCP to support data products, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver data products that align with business goals.
- Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance within GCP environments.
- Monitor and maintain data infrastructure, ensuring high availability, data quality, and efficient processing.
- Drive the adoption of modern data engineering tools and methodologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) Data Engineer - Azure Databricks - Mandatory Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years focused on building data solutions in Azure Databricks.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines using Azure Databricks.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PySpark, Java, or Scala, and SQL for data processing.
- Proven expertise implementing big data pipelines, working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Spanish proficiency is mandatory.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) Data Engineer - Azure Databricks – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of data governance, security practices, and compliance standards in cloud environments.
- Knowledge of data quality and testing processes focused on data pipelines.

The contract duration is from ASAP to October 31st, with the possibility of extension.
