Your work environment at EXP
EXP is seeking a Senior Pursuit Specialist to join our Western Canada Business Development team, who will be focused on leading complex proposal pursuits, elevating submission quality, and driving winning strategies across key markets. In this role, you will operate at the intersection of business development, strategy, and technical delivery. You will take ownership of end-to-end pursuit management, partnering closely with senior leadership, discipline leads, and project teams to position EXP for success across high-value opportunities.

What a day at EXP has in store for your
- Lead pursuits from discovery through submission
- Facilitate go/no-go decisions, pursuit planning, and proposal execution for a variety of pursuit opportunities. Ensure alignment between leadership, technical teams, and business development to define win strategies and differentiators.
- Elevate proposal strategy and quality
- Develop compelling pursuit strategies, including key messaging, value propositions, and client-focused narratives. Guide technical teams in developing content that is clear, strategic, and aligned to evaluation criteria. Partner with Marketing & Communications to ensure brand alignment and impactful storytelling.
- Own and coach the proposal process
- Lead proposal timelines, compliance reviews, and submission readiness. Mentor new hires and junior team members, strengthening proposal capabilities across Western Canada.
- Support business development initiatives
- Conduct research and apply insights into client needs, competitors, and market trends. Support relationship planning and positioning activities in advance of formal pursuits.
- Collaborate at a leadership level
Act as a trusted advisor to business line leaders and senior management on pursuit strategy and risk.

What your experience looks like
- 8–12+ years of experience in pursuits, proposals, or business development within the AEC industry
- Proven track record leading complex, multi-disciplinary pursuits and driving successful outcomes
- Ability to create client focused, accessible narratives from technical content
- Experience facilitating strategy sessions, Red/Gold team reviews, and executive-level discussions
- Advanced organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage high-pressure deadlines
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop) and Bluebeam
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and BD tools (e.g., CRM systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint)
This job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.
The salary range for this role is between $74,199 - $98,356. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
