Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Backshift Food Counter Attendant to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving food items, managing customer transactions, and ensuring a clean and safe food service environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently during evening hours. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, cashiering, and food safety within a fast-paced restaurant setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling
- Serve customers efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service
- Manage cash register transactions accurately, including cash handling and upselling additional items
- Ensure all food handling and sanitation procedures are followed to meet food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, kitchen equipment, and dining space
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Uphold sanitation standards by adhering to proper hygiene practices during food preparation and serving
- Provide friendly assistance to customers, answer questions about menu items, and promote upselling when appropriate
Skills
- Experience in food preparation and food service roles, preferably in a restaurant or food industry setting
- Proficiency with POS systems, especially Micros POS, for efficient cashiering
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating a positive dining experience
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing inventory counts
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Ability to work efficiently during evening hours on the backshift schedule
- Kitchen experience is a plus, along with familiarity with serving in fast-paced environments
- Ability to upsell menu items effectively while maintaining excellent customer relations
Pay: From $16.75 per hour
