Job Summary
The Maintenance & Reliability Manager is responsible for overseeing all actions related to the maintenance (preventative, corrective, predictive), general upkeep and over all reliability of the equipment and related processes involved in the manufacturing of Drillers Edge products with a mind to maximising productivity and uptime while minimising operating costs. This will involve coordinating and interfacing with production teams, engineering teams and other teams as needed (e.g. Finance, IT, Commercial etc). The facility oversite, management and / or upgrades will also fall under the scope of this role.
The role could grow over time to include the automation of certain production processes within the plant requiring this person to have the capabilities to provide technical advice to be able to bridge the gap between existing operations and new technical advances, standards or regulation requirements.
Project related work for plant upgrades or safety mitigation efforts will be required as will budgeting and forecasting expenses.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team to ensure timely and effective execution of maintenance activities.
- Develop and manage a cutting-edge preventative maintenance program, including routine inspections and proactive measures to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Build and lead a high-performing maintenance team, setting clear goals and providing guidance and training to drive team success.
- Fosters a culture that does not tolerate equipment failures and seeks to understand and eliminate the causes using techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Optimize equipment to improve product quality, operator safety, production efficiencies and equipment reliability.
- Oversee the development process for the design and installation of new and equipment and automation solutions.
- Ensure all new equipment and processes adhere to regulatory compliance by working with third party experts such as Professional Engineers, Certified Electricians and equipment manufacturers.
- Establishes operating budgets and financial forecasts on an ongoing basis and analyses the activity’s financial results in order to implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Identify, investigate and correct unsafe practices and comply with all safety policies, procedures and applicable laws.
- Review current maintenance policies and procedures to optimize maintenance program effectiveness; develop improvements to decrease asset downtime
- Ensures standard reliability and maintenance work processes are followed. Implements and tracks maintenance KPIs.
- Maintain Time, attendance, and vacation schedules for those people under direct supervision.
- Promote a safe working environment and health and safety awareness and participates to internal audits or investigations with assigned corrective actions in a timely manner while ensuring proper documentation for Health & Safety is completed.
- Ensure that proper structures, processes, and manpower are in place to efficiently implement all related strategies, while promoting Di-Corp’s quality and safety objectives
Minimum Required Education:
- Post-Secondary Trades Certificate or Diploma with a Millwright certificate or background in CNC machining is desirable.
- Those candidates with training in Electrician or Robotic Technician in lieu of other qualifications would also be considered.
- Certified welding experience is considered a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Microsoft Office and related IT programs (e.g. MaintainX, ERPs)
- Strong interpersonal skills w/ demonstrated team management skills.
- >5 years’ experience as a machinist/machine operator producing work to an acceptable standard and performance.
- Minimum 5 years reliability and/or maintenance experience
- Project management experience
- Strong technical aptitude with an ability to handle mechanical / electrical systems and upgrades
- Knowledge of the mining industry, with emphasis on mineral exploration tooling including tubular or diamond impregnated products.

Physical Demands:
Regularly lift 20 lbs. occasionally lift / Carry weights to 50 lbs. Occasionally Push / Pull weights to 100 lbs.
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
