Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Forestry Technician specializing in GIS and Mapping to support remote project efforts on a contract basis with an option to extend their contract. This role involves utilizing advanced geospatial technologies to assist in forest management, data collection, and mapping projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS applications, data management, and mapping software, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Duties
- analyze forestry data using GIS tools to support project objectives
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed maps and spatial datasets utilizing ArcGIS, CAD software
- Manage databases related to forestry projects, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security
- Assist in the design and implementation of GIS workflows for efficient data collection and analysis
- Ensure all mapping outputs adhere to project specifications and quality standards
- Maintain organized records of geospatial data, project documentation, and related files for easy retrieval and updates
Experience
- Proven experience working with GIS software such as ArcGIS, CAD, AutoCAD, and database management systems
- Demonstrated ability in data collection within forestry or construction environments
- Strong understanding of geospatial data management, including database creation and maintenance
- Prior experience with construction projects or environmental fieldwork is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently remotely while managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in spatial data accuracy and map production
Pay: $20.94-$30.62 per hour
