Role Description:
The Equipment Operator will play a pivotal role in operating and maintaining heavy equipment to support Elgie & Sons’ contracting services. This position requires a skilled, safety-minded professional who can efficiently handle machinery for projects such as septic system installation, grading, landscaping, Grading, Excavating and snow removal.
Key Responsibilities:
● Safely operate equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozer, grader, and related machinery
● Perform digging, grading, backfilling, snow removal and loading tasks as required on project sites
● Assist with septic system installation and repair by operating equipment to specifications
● Conduct daily inspections, basic maintenance, and reporting of any mechanical issues with equipment
● Work collaboratively with team members and follow supervisor directions to complete projects on time
● Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies
Qualifications:
● Proven experience operating heavy equipment (excavator, skid steer, loader, dozer, grader, or similar)
● Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 3 or air brake endorsement is considered an asset)
● Strong understanding of equipment safety and maintenance practices
● Ability to perform physical tasks and work outdoors in all weather conditions
● Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and in a team environment
● Experience in septic, landscaping, snow removal, or construction industries is an asset
Driver’s License & Transportation Requirements:
A valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation are required. Class 3 with air brake endorsement is considered an asset. Must have a clean driver’s abstract.

Pay: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
