Catch Hospitality was founded in 2000 and is a group that is passionate, innovative, full-service restaurant and catering company. Located in the thriving Bronte neighborhood of Oakville. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and handling, with a focus on creating high-quality sushi dishes. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting authentic sushi while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your creativity and attention to detail will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high quality and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and sushi preparation area.
- Follow food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene.
- Assist in meal preparation by preparing ingredients such as fish, vegetables, and rice.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
- Stay updated on sushi trends and techniques to continually enhance menu offerings.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry.
- Proficient in food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making.
- Experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or food service setting.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Passion for culinary arts with a willingness to learn new skills and techniques related to sushi preparation.
