As we continue to grow, we're looking for a hands-on Delivery Manager in our Ottawa location to lead our delivery team and help maintain the high standards our customers and dealer partners expect.
Position Summary
The Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our delivery team, coordinating schedules, ensuring deliveries are completed on time, and maintaining excellent communication with customers, dealers, and team members. This is a leadership role that combines office coordination with hands-on field support when required.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever needed to ensure the job gets done.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch and coordinate delivery crews to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the delivery team to meet schedules and customer expectations.
- Work closely with customers and vendors to coordinate deliveries and meet deadlines.
- Provide hands-on assistance with hot tub deliveries and installations when additional manpower is required.
- Handle customer inquiries and escalations professionally through phone and email.
- Manage the upkeep and maintenance of the vehicles being used.
- Maintain clear communication between customers, vendors, drivers, and delivery crews.
- Monitor delivery schedules and proactively resolve issues that may impact timelines.
- Assist with warehouse operations, inventory organization, and equipment management as needed.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed safely and according to company standards.
- Support and coach team members to promote efficiency, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records, schedules, and delivery documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, delivery management, or related fields.
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable communicating professionally by phone, email, and in person.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Experience driving pickup trucks and trailers.
- Forklift certification and previous forklift operating experience.
- Ability to lift and assist with physically demanding deliveries when required.
- Experience leading or supervising a team is considered an asset.
