About the Role :
The Shipper and Receiver at Frozen Solid plays a vital role in our temperature-controlled distribution and warehousing operations across Alberta. Reporting to the Freight Coordinator, this position is responsible for efficiently handling incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate inventory management, and maintaining product quality. The Shipper and Receiver will also uphold safety protocols, ensure the cleanliness of the warehouse, and prepare the site for all incoming loads and outgoing distributions. Attention to detail, effective time management, and strong teamwork are essential to delivering high-quality, on-time shipments and exceptional customer service.
Position Shift and Pay info:
· Shift time: 1 pm to 9 pm (8 Hours)
· Shift Days: Monday to Friday
· Total hours per week: 40 Hours
· Pay Rate Per Hour: Minimum $21.63 Maximum $25.80
· Overtime Pay
Expectations:
- Proficient in the use of common computer programs and software, such as Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Operating systems. Preference for previous experience in TMS or warehouse management systems.
- Manage time wisely to achieve high productivity.
- Required documentation must be completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work with coworkers to maintain a healthy and positive team environment.
- Safety must be seen as a high priority.
- Comfortable working independently and unsupervised, with the ability to manage tasks and responsibilities alone.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload of all trucks making sure all trucks are loaded as per company policy.
- Pick and sort all orders for delivery ensuing accuracy.
- Label all pallets for movement between Calgary and Nisku Distribution Centers.
- Calibrate all thermometers at the start of each month.
- Clean warehouse and empty all garbage on a daily basis.
- Updating dispatch and the freight coordinator on shipments.
- Other related duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of how to handle materials safely, with a preference for previous experience working with consumable products.
- High attention to detail.
- Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo.
- Valid Power and Forklift Certificate / License.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 (two) years previous distribution and warehouse experience with a preference for food distribution.
Salary and Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $21.63 - $25.80/hour based on experience, and overtime pay, with 2 weeks’ Vacation and Group Health Benefit plan.
