Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Baker/Bakery Associate. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic food environment, focusing on preparing baked goods, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with experience in baking, food handling, and kitchen operations. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys creating visually appealing baked goods and providing excellent customer experiences.
Responsibilities
· Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest, directing them to products in the store, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
· Receive, coordinate and prepare bakery orders for customers and other store departments, ensuring accuracy, quality and satisfaction.
· Utilize skills and knowledge in proper methods of proofing, preparing and baking a wide variety of baked goods including, but not limited to, buns, breads, sweets, pies, muffins, cookies, icings and numerous specialty items.
· Produce quality baked goods, ensuring freshness, taste, colour, texture and attractiveness to garner customer satisfaction.
· Roll, kneed, cut and shape dough to produce quality baked items.
· Apply glazes, icings or other toppings to baked goods, ensuring a tasty and appealing result.
· Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays to ensure the freshest product and prevent potential product loss.
· Prepare and maintain inventory and production records to continually provide adequate supplies for customer demand and prepare for next-day production.
· Ensuring work areas are ready for production by cleaning surfaces, equipment and floors, removing garbage, as well as stocking required materials and confirming that tools and ovens are in safe, working order.
· Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.
· Train new Bakery Team Members in all aspects of the job in order to maintain consistency in the department.
· Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, as well as other department members, to offer quality customer service.
Assist in other duties or departments as assigned.
