Vanguard Power Ltd. is a growing electrical contractor based in Chilliwack, BC. We specialize in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure electrical projects across British Columbia and Western Canada.
Our work includes industrial electrical construction, commercial projects, municipal infrastructure, water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, control systems, automation, electrical equipment installations, and modular electrical buildings.
We are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to our team to help lead industrial and commercial electrical projects from award through completion. This role is well suited to a highly organized, accountable, and experienced PM who can manage schedules, budgets, procurement, communication, documentation, and project execution with professionalism and confidence.
About the Role
This role is focused on managing electrical construction projects after award, ensuring each project is executed safely, efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with client expectations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project planning, scheduling, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change management, cost tracking, client communication, field coordination, and closeout documentation.
This is a leadership role that requires strong communication, follow-through, financial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple active projects at one time. The ideal candidate has a proven track record managing industrial and commercial projects and understands the importance of supporting field teams while protecting project scope, schedule, and margin.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage industrial and commercial electrical projects from award through completion
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements
- Lead project setup, planning, kickoff, procurement, execution, and closeout
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Prepare and manage project schedules, manpower planning, procurement logs, and project trackers
- Review and submit RFIs, submittals, change order requests, change directives, and project documentation
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, billing support, and margin protection
- Identify scope gaps, risks, delays, and cost impacts early and communicate them clearly
- Support foremen and field teams with drawings, materials, information, and execution planning
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, professionally, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards
- Track project progress and ensure reporting, photos, documentation, and updates are completed properly
- Lead or participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams
- Support procurement of major equipment, materials, and long-lead items
- Manage change order pricing, documentation, and client approval processes
- Ensure closeout documents, deficiencies, O&M manuals, testing reports, and turnover packages are completed
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management systems, templates, and workflows
- Report to senior management on project status, risks, financial performance, and resource needs
Minimum Qualifications
- PMP certification required
- Minimum 8 years of successful project management experience
- Proven experience managing industrial and/or commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of electrical construction, project execution, and field coordination
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules
- Strong knowledge of project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and change management
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at one time
- Professional, accountable, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
- Valid driver’s licence
Nice to Have
- Electrical trade background or technical electrical experience
- Experience with Procore or similar project management software
- Industrial, municipal, water/wastewater, pump station, or infrastructure project experience
- Experience with controls, automation, instrumentation, or process electrical systems
- Experience managing long-lead equipment procurement
- Experience with MCCs, switchgear, generators, VFDs, control panels, and electrical distribution equipment
- Experience with design-build projects
- Experience working with prefabricated electrical buildings, E-Houses, kiosks, or modular enclosures
- Familiarity with CCDC contracts, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and closeout documentation

Pay: $85,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
