We are Accident Support Services International Ltd. We are a privately owned company that works in partnership with Police Services across Ontario, Alberta and PEI to provide collision reporting solutions for all non-injury collisions.
The Opportunity:
As a Customer Service Representative in Niagara Region, within the Niagara Police Stations, you will be a part of the most important part of our business, the front line. You will be the first point of contact for those who arrive to report their collision. You will be responsible for preparing collision reports, photographing damaged vehicles, & assisting drivers in the initial stages of reporting their collision to their Insurer.
Main Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors, determine their needs & direct them accordingly
- Evaluate whether a collision meets the eligibility requirements to be reported at the Collision Reporting Centre
- Verify driver documents (licence, ownership, and insurance)
- Interview drivers to determine/verify collision details
- Data enter information using custom software to produce collision reports for Police, Insurance affiliates and the Ministry of Transportation
- Photograph damaged vehicles outdoors, in all weather conditions, and upload these images into the collision report
- Organize & coordinate workflow between Collision Reporting Centre & Police personnel
- Assist drivers in the initial stages of reporting to Insurance by providing them with the information they need to do so
- Respond to telephone inquiries or forward callers to the appropriate person or authority
- Provide general information regarding the responsibilities of drivers with respect to reporting a collision to Police & Insurance Companies
- Other duties as assigned
Working Hours
- You must be able to travel and work at all three Niagara Collision Centres; located in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland. Hours could be a variety of Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm and / or 7 days week 10:00am – 6:00pm.
- You must be available to share a weekend rotation of Saturday and Sunday 10:00am – 6:00pm.
- We are looking for someone who has flexible availability during the above operational hours.
- We are looking for someone who is able to commit to working at least 16-20 hours each week. However, candidates must be flexible and able to pick up additional shifts as needed.
You would be a great fit if you have the following skillset:
- At least 2 years in a similar role with comparable experience and responsibilities
- A good understanding of the rules of the road and a valid G2 or G licence
- Reliable transportation to work between the 3 collision reporting centres (St. Catharines, Niagara Falls & Welland)
- You are able to pass background testing, including a criminal background check
- A high level of emotional intelligence, and an empathetic demeanor
- Patience and the ability to stay calm and even-keeled while adapting to a variety of situations in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to work well with a team, to effectively meet company KPIs
Working Conditions
- Able to work on a computer for long periods of time;
- Required to work in a busy, open area office which may result in constant interruptions;
- May be required to stand for extended periods of time during shifts;
- Required to photograph damaged vehicles outdoors, in all weather conditions; and
- Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
