The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run.
This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4th, 2026.
Tasks for this role include:
- Direct and encourage participants along the 1K and 5K routes
- Provide clear guidance and ensure participants follow signage and event rules
- Cheer participants on and help keep the energy high throughout the route
- Spirit Squad- If volunteer numbers allow, this can be a separate role! Spirit Squad volunteers are our cheerleaders along the route—bringing energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement to every participant. Pom-poms optional, smiles required!
- This is an active role in which you will need to stand for long periods of time
