Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Installer / Lead Hand specializing in footings, ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms), and flatwork to join our team. You will be responsible for executing high-quality concrete projects from preparation and forming to pouring and finishing. This role requires strong structural knowledge, precision, and the physical stamina required for specialized concrete construction.
Responsibilities
- Forming & Footings: Set up and level footings according to blueprints, structural drawings, and local building codes.
- ICF Installation: Assemble, brace, and reinforce Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) accurately for walls and foundations.
- Flatwork & Finishing: Pour, place, screed, and finish concrete surfaces (slabs, driveways, sidewalks, and floors) using hand and power trowels.
- Reinforcement: Place and tie rebar, wire mesh, and anchor bolts as specified by engineering plans.
- Site Prep & Pouring: Direct concrete truck deliveries, manage concrete pumps, and ensure proper consolidation during pours.
- Quality Control: Check string lines, levels, and squareness throughout the building process to ensure precise dimensions.
Requirements
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and accurately interpret structural blueprints and construction layouts.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience with specialized concrete tools (laser levels, power trowels, concrete saws, vibrators, and standard hand tools).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy manual labor, lift 50+ lbs, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a valid driver’s license (with reliable transportation to job sites).
