Position Overview:
Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for maintaining shop and yard cleanliness, shipping and receiving duties, inventory management, rental coordination, and local deliveries/pick-ups. This role requires a strong focus on organization, safety, and efficiency, ensuring smooth warehouse operations and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving:
- Prepare products for shipment, including packaging and labeling.
- Coordinate carrier pick-ups, prepare packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
- Document, wrap, and label dangerous goods per TDG regulations.
- Process received shipments, verifying materials against waybills, packing slips, and purchase orders.
- Identify and report discrepancies (e.g., short shipments, damaged items) to the manager.
Inventory & Asset Management:
- Handle stock counts and inventory control within the warehouse.
- Maintain records for company tools, equipment, and assets.
- Conduct inspections of assets to ensure functionality and compliance.
- Populate and receive purchase orders accurately.
- Optimize warehouse processes to improve material movement and storage.
Shop & Yard Maintenance:
- Perform daily and monthly inspections of the shop, yard, and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, yard, and storage spaces.
- Conduct pre-inspections on forklifts and other equipment.
General Duties:
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, hand tools, and power tools as required.
- Perform local deliveries, pick-ups, and hotshots to job sites.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping, receiving, and WHMIS-related documentation.
- Adhere to Medallion’s Health and Safety Manual and OH&S regulations.
- Assist with any additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Required Certifications: Forklift and skid steer certifications.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean abstract.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently or within a team.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse roles.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
