Locks Salon and Spa is a well-established, professional salon in the heart of Peterborough. We are currently seeking a passionate, skilled Hairstylist to join our talented team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated stylist who values continued education, exceptional client care, and staying current with industry trends. This is a commission based position.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate is a confident, skilled hairstylist with a strong professional background and an established clientele. You will deliver high-quality hair services while creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of professional hairstyling experience
- Valid Certificate of Qualification / Skills Trade License (Ontario)
- Established clientele preferred
- Proven hairstyling experience with a strong portfolio showcasing your work
- Knowledge of Aveda products and philosophy is desired
- Commitment to continuing education and professional growth
- Up-to-date knowledge of current hair trends, techniques, and products
- Excellent communication and consultation skills
- Strong customer service focus with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Retail sales experience is an asset
- Ability to properly sanitize tools and maintain a clean workstation in accordance with health and safety regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, and treatments
- Conduct thorough client consultations to ensure satisfaction and results
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
- Promote and recommend retail products to support client needs
- Stay current with fashion trends, techniques, and industry advancements
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
