Service Staff Position at the Official Residence
The Delegation of Japan to ICAO is a diplomatic mission of the Japanese Government to the International Civil Aviation Organization. We are seeking a motivated and professional individual to join our team. This role requires providing high-quality service with punctuality, courtesy and professionalism, as they will regularly welcome government officials and high-profile visitors.

Position Description
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
· Provide support for social events including official lunches and dinners held at the official residence, such as setting up tables and chairs, arranging tablecloths, assisting the chef, serving food and beverages, and cleaning up after events, etc.
· Maintain a clean kitchen by cleaning surfaces, washing dishes, ensuring proper organization of kitchenware.
· Carry out general housekeeping duties according to the assigned schedule, including cleaning rooms, washing windows, dusting furniture, and vacuuming floors, etc.
· Provide support for maintenance of the official residence, including tasks such as replacing a light bulb, performing minor repairs, snow shoveling, etc.
· Maintain the proper use of cleaning products and equipment.
· Liaise with contractors and welcome/assist visitors as required.
· Perform other related tasks and general office duties as assigned.
· Comply with all occupational health, hygiene, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
· Educational qualifications: At least a secondary school/high school diploma.
· Professional experience: At least two years relevant experience in a similar position.
· Language requirements: English and/or French.
· Autonomy, punctuality, strong work ethic, courtesy and discretion are essential qualities.
· Be reliable, courteous, discrete, diligent and versatile. It is imperative to safeguard office confidentiality at all times.
· Interest in or knowledge of Japan and its governance structure, as well as interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, will be considered assets.
Essential Requirements
· Must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident (no working visa support).
· A criminal background check will be required prior to the start date.
Position Type
· Full-Time: Monday to Friday
- Days with official dinners (regular) : 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. including a break from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Days without official dinners: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. including a break from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
※Schedule may, however, be subject to change.
※Overtime may be requested according to the needs of the Delegation and the organization, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
· First three months are a probationary period.
Salary Details
· Annually payroll plus performance bonus: Approximately $36,000-$38,000 details to be discussed.
· Employee package includes group insurance, annual leave and paid sick leave.
