Aviora Healthcare is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our growing home care team in Kenora and surrounding communities.
We provide personalized in-home care services that help seniors and adults maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life while remaining in the comfort of their own homes. Kenora serves as the regional hub for northwestern Ontario, making it an important community for expanding access to quality home care services.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance
- Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and fall prevention
- Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Prepare meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities when required
- Observe and report changes in client condition
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow individualized care plans
- Deliver compassionate, respectful, and professional care
Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate or equivalent healthcare training
- Previous home care or community care experience is an asset
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation preferred
- Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to employment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
