Chief Construction Estimator
Economy Paving Ltd. is looking for an experienced and motivated Chief Construction Estimator to join our growing team. We are involved in asphalt paving, grading, Earthworks, underground utilities, concrete, and site development projects throughout Alberta.
The ideal candidate will have strong estimating experience in civil construction, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while preparing accurate and competitive project estimates.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Prepare bid submissions and tender packages
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
- Track project costs and support project management teams
- Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client meetings as required
- Identify project risks and opportunities during the estimating process
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
Qualifications
- Experience in civil construction estimating
- Knowledge of asphalt paving, grading, Earthworks, underground, and concrete construction
- Ability to read blueprints and construction specifications
- Strong understanding of construction costs and project management
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Valid driver’s license
