Our current pipeline includes more than 20 active development projects, representing approximately $60 million in construction value and $150 million in completed assets under management.
Our mission is to build a scalable, high-quality development platform for multiplex housing across Toronto. We are assembling a lean, high-performance team and are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting function and help build the financial infrastructure that supports our growth.
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will oversee full-cycle accounting for KPLEX's portfolio of multi-residential rental properties and purpose-built rental development projects.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will play a key role in property accounting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and operational improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional to assume a leadership role within a rapidly growing real estate platform.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Residential Rental Portfolio
- Manage the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of multi-residential rental properties, including bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, accruals, account reconciliations, trial balances, and intercompany transactions.
- Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance monitoring at the property level.
- Support onboarding of newly acquired and/or stabilized properties, including accounting system setup and reporting framework development.
- Maintain tenant records, lease information, and rent rolls within property management systems such as Yardi Breeze.
- Work closely with Property Management to reconcile tenant accounts and monitor collections.
- Prepare month-end and year-end financial reporting packages.
- Support external audits by preparing working papers and responding to auditor requests.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting procedures.
- Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors.
Purpose-Built Rental Development Projects
- Review, verify, and process invoices across development projects and corporate entities.
- Manage project-related transactions, including wire transfers, loan draws, and funding requests.
- Support project budgeting, cost tracking, and variance analysis.
- Assist leadership with project financing, capital planning, and financial analysis.
- Manage cash flow forecasting across development projects and corporate operations.
- Prepare and coordinate HST filings, corporate tax support, and other compliance requirements.
- Oversee lender reporting and ensure compliance with financing agreements.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-making.
Qualifications
- CPA, CA or CPA or actively enrolled in the CPA program is considered a strong asset
· Post-secondary education with a specialty in Accounting or Business Administration
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role and/or accounting and tax experience in a corporate environment is considered a strong asset
- Highly proficient in QBO and Excel
- Proficiency in Yardi is considered a strong asset
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and planning skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet time sensitive deadlines
Compensation & Opportunity
- Competitive compensation of $80,000 – $100,000
