Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical office settings and possess strong administrative skills. This role involves providing exceptional front desk support, managing electronic medical records, and ensuring smooth daily operations within a busy medical practice. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing a welcoming environment
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages efficiently
- Maintain and update electronic medical records using Accuro with accuracy and confidentiality
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and assist with check-in/check-out procedures
- Prepare and organize patient charts, documentation, and billing information
- Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and rescheduling to optimize provider availability
- Support clinical staff with basic administrative duties as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical or dental office environment is highly preferred, especially with dental receptionist duties or dental office experience
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Accuro required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and administrative tasks
- Experience with office equipment including multi-line phone systems and office software applications
- Ability to handle front desk responsibilities professionally while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Prior office experience demonstrating administrative competence in healthcare settings is desirable
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a friendly demeanor
