Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and mechanical maintenance, with the ability to work on various types of trucks and trailers and related equipment. This role requires hands-on experience with power tools and hand tools, as well as the capability to assemble, maintain, and repair trailer components efficiently.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble trailer parts.
- Conduct inspections of truck and trailers to identify any necessary repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery safely while performing repairs or moving equipment.
- Assist in welding tasks as needed for repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Proven experience truck and trailer repair.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred but not required.
- Proficient in using various power tools and hand tools for mechanical work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately.
- Experience in welding is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with truck and trailer maintenance.
- A valid driver's license is required.
