Job Summary
The accountant will support the CFO/Controller in daily accounting tasks, while working closely and collaboratively with a group of smart, driven and ambitious managers.
You will be assisting in the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements, forecasts, the annual budget and contributing to special projects. The successful candidate will be involved with supporting all aspects of the financial operations.
The Dubois Group of companies includes at trucking business, a freight brokerage and a truck repair shop
Duties:
- Will assist in preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets and forecasts for all three companies
- Maintain internal processes and controls related to AP, AR, Billing, Payroll, Driver payroll, Owner Operator Payroll, and Interline payables.
- Be the person to “fill in” during vacations or sick days
- Reconcile GL accounts monthly and for year end audit
- Prepare monthly and quarterly tax remittances
- Prepare monthly journal entries
- Use accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Coordinate with and prepare reports for CFO and other department managers.
- Assist with budget process.
- Recognize opportunities or problems
- Contribute to team efforts by displaying a positive attitude and accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Detail oriented and highly organized.
- Sound time management and the ability to prioritize.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite, especially Excel.
- Basic knowledge of accounting software and systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- A University degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance or related field.
- Minimum 1 year Accounting experience
Experience in cross-border transportation considered an asset
Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
