Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Must be willing to learn new techniques and recipes. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to food safety, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to manage kitchen staff, maintain inventory, and uphold the standards of our restaurant.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and menu plans.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training in cooking techniques and food handling.
- Ensure that all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed to maintain stock.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development and special events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist in managing kitchen operations during peak service times to ensure efficiency.
- Participate in serving meals during busy periods or special occasions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a restaurant or culinary environment, preferably as a Sous Chef or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety practices.
- Familiarity with various cuisines and meal preparation styles.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- A passion for the food industry and commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences.
