The Purchasing Agent proactively manages the retail and single-family inventory requirements with a focus on just in time inventory to increase turns and reduce inventory levels. Communicates and engages with the retail and single-family team on a regular basis with a focus on providing the best customer service possible. Takes full ownership over the inventory in the warehouses. Works directly with suppliers to ensure the product arrives as requested while also working directly with homeowners and customer for returns and the return process with our vendors using our proprietary software as well as admins returns to our vendors.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel plus a willingness to learn OPL's proprietary software.
- Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar role
- Positive Attitude that is customer focused
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Motivated and works well in a team environment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Source and negotiate pricing for goods and services
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods
- Monitor inventory levels and track shipments Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders
- Collaborate with others to not only ensure procurement needs are met but also customers doing returns receive adequate policy and costs associated with returns and exchanges.
