Main Duties:
- Conduct trauma-informed, neuroaffirming biopsychosocial assessments using art-based and relational methods.
- Provide individual, dyadic, family, and group art psychotherapy for neurodiverse children, youth, and caregivers.
- Deliver clinical services grounded in non-ABA, neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and relational frameworks of care.
- Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation (progress notes, reports, risk assessments).
- Apply good knowledge of Squamish-based government organizations, day programs, and referral streams (e.g., MCFD, BC Children’s Hospital, local school districts, community health centres, Indigenous services) to inform service delivery and client support.
- Offer psychoeducation, consultation, and capacity-building to families, educators, and community partners.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, program development, and community outreach initiatives.
- Advocate for accessible, culturally safe, and neuroaffirming mental health services in the Sea-to-Sky corridor.
Required Education, Licences, and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or Art Therapy.
- Active professional designation as either a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) or a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience providing therapeutic services to neurodiverse populations in mental health, counselling, or community settings.
- Demonstrated familiarity with Squamish government organizations, day programs, and referral streams.
- Commitment to neuroaffirming, non-ABA, trauma-informed, and relational frameworks of care.
