Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Roofer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have experience working with commercial flat roofing systems and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork. Experience with SBS torch-on and SBS cold-applied roofing systems is highly desirable.
Job Duties:
The main responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
· Install, repair, and replace built-up roofing systems using asphalt-saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel
· Install, repair, and replace single-ply roofing systems, including SBS, EPDM, TPO/PVC, and other waterproof membrane systems
· Install and repair metal roofing systems using hand and power tools
· Install sheet metal flashings and other roofing components to ensure watertight seals
· Apply waterproof coatings to concrete, masonry, and other surfaces above and below ground level
· Set up, inspect, and dismantle scaffolding and other access equipment safely
· Measure, cut, and prepare roofing materials according to project specifications
· Follow all workplace safety procedures, including fall protection and hazard prevention protocols
· Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and manufacturer specifications
· Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
Qualifications:
· Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial flat roofing
· Experience working with SBS torch-on and SBS cold-applied roofing systems is considered an asset
· Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
· Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
· Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
· Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including fall protection and safe work procedures
· Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, and handling heavy roofing materials
· Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality work
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
· Valid driver's licence preferred, or reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Calgary area
· Willing and able to work weekends as required
