Duties
- Perform comprehensive bike repairs including brake adjustments, tuning, gear adjustments, wheels and shifting to optimize performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and safety inspections to extend bike lifespan.
- Assemble new bikes from parts using hand tools and power tools with precision and care.
- Diagnose mechanical issues accurately by inspecting components and systems to determine necessary repairs.
- Replace or repair components like brakes, derailleurs, and wheels to ensure optimal functionality.
- Provide expert advice to customers on bike maintenance, accessories, and upgrades to enhance their cycling experience.
- Experience working with e-bikes is an asset.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while managing multiple repair jobs efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
- 1–3 years of bike mechanic experience (shop experience a plus)
- Strong mechanical knowledge of bike systems including brakes, drivetrains, and wheel assembly.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools for assembly and repairs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling bikes or parts during repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical details clearly.
- Knowledge of cycling trends and products to recommend suitable solutions for diverse customer needs.
